Susan Mason (she/her- preferred name Susy)

Hello!  I am Product and UX designer living in beautiful Vermont.

I create user-centric digital experiences that connect people with businesses and brands. My work is purposeful and I love the puzzle of solving complex product interface challenges with simple, elegant solutions.

I am a hands-on designer comfortable in all parts of the process- from strategy, product definition, ideation, wireframing and prototyping, establishing creative direction, through frictionless hand-off to the development team.

I have more than 20 years digital design and UX experience and launched my interactive design career designing Miramax films first generation website. I spent a dozen years as the creative lead for interactive projects at NYC-based studio Ross, Culbert & Lavery. I have had the good fortune of providing design work for a wide range of businesses from B-corps, higher-ed and Fortune 500 companies in the legal, financial, and accounting industries as well as co-creating with other talented designers and developers . 

The depth and breadth of my experience has helped sharpen my skills in digital design and UX and my ability to efficiently develop creative solutions to a wide range of visual, interface, business, strategy or communications problems. I truly enjoy creating frictionless and engaging digtal experiences and journeys that meet both user needs and business goals.

A devoted bicyclist, I find cars highly overrated – at least for local travel- and can get to most destinations on two wheels much easier than in a car-  even in the snowy winters in Vermont. My happy place is the local climbing gym. I am most in my element solving climbing problems and moving vertically on the wall. It has a lot of similarities with my design work in the way I like finding simple solutions to complex problems. In climbing, I try to make hard or complex climbs look easy and graceful. (note: It’s all relative. I am talking about my ever-shifting personal Everest here!) Kicksledding is my new winter passion and summer months find me trying to get some time sailing on beautiful Lake Champlain.
